Accounts can be submitted to Eastern for immediate legal action; however, we recommend placing the accounts for our Debt Collection Services prior to initiating the legal process. This ensures that your customer has been given every opportunity to resolve the matter.
Eastern Credit Management Services recommends legal action on an account when:
- All other collection methods have been exhausted
- There is a dispute that is unlikely to be resolved
- The debtor does not respond to attempts to collect
- The debtor is employed and/or owns property and/or has the ability to pay
- The balance is significant enough to warrant further action
